Nabu Casa, Inc was founded in 2018 by the founders of Home Assistant, the open source home automation platform, and Home Assistant OS, the operating system that turns your device into a smart home hub powered by Home Assistant. These projects have grown tremendously and have helped shape DIY home automation communities around the world.

Nabu Home also offers a paid subscription service that is linked to its Home Assistant instance. Its main purpose is twofold: first, to give the smart home owner access to their home automation from outside their home network; and second, to help fund the developers of Home Assistant and its cloud infrastructure.
In short, Nabu Home is a solution that allows you to control your smart home from anywhere, even when you are not at home. Some of its features include remote access, text-to-speech (TTS) technology and the ability to connect with voice assistants such as Alexa and Google
While it is possible to set up some of these features without Nabu Home, this subscription offers a simpler and more convenient solution for those unfamiliar with technical concepts such as port forwarding, dynamic DNS and SSL.
