This USB adapter is a Z-Wave home automation control unit that allows you to connect a PC or any other device with a USB interface to a Z-Wave wireless network. Using some third party control software compatible with the SERMA API SERIES Designs to use the functions of the device. The third-party software plus this USB driver, gives us the possibility to control and use Z-Wave devices from multiple manufacturers. This "spike" USB works with all devices certified as Z-Wave regardless of its brand or its date of manufacture. The Sigma Designs Serial API specification is available to all owners of the Sigma Designs Z-Wave SDK. Attention: this section does not contain a license to run the Z-Wave.Me software whose name is Z-Way. In any case you can "upgrade" this USB stick to use the functions of such software using a Ref. Compared to the standard firmware design used by almost all USB "spikes" for Z-Wave and other Z-Wave host interface hardware, the UZB firmware offers several extensions and improvements:

  • Backup and recovery of the network topology function that includes
  • Optimized the handling of transmission queues to accelerate the process of transmission of firmware update from the level of the operating system in the field
  • Secure platform module strong encryption application
  • Extended alarm clock notification
  • Management of extending the battery life time of battery operated devices in the network
  • The UZB comes with two versions: UZB1 is the simple version, without additional software license. It can be used with any third-party Z-Wave driver software. UZBWAY is the combination of UZB plus a license key for the Z-Way driver software. Z-Way will always require a Z-Wave.Me hardware to function, either a UZB (licensed) or a Razberry card.
