Popp Z-Rain - Rain sensor Z-Wave Plus

Do you want to know when it starts to rain and the windows are open? Do you want to close the roof windows when it rains? Or do you want to control a garden so that you can water more intelligently and want to record rainfall as well? The POP-Z-Rain rain sensor allows your Z-Wave-based home automation to make your Smart Home even smarter. Our Popp Z-Rain sensor is not only a rain sensor, it is also a digital, electronic and intelligent rain gauge.

The Z-Rain sensor has an internal rocker, where rainwater is collected until the weight of the water tilts the rocker. The tilt will be recorded from a tab sensor and will be counted as well. On this basis the precipitation will be calculated.

With the first inclination of the rocker and therefore right at the beginning of the rain you will receive the first value of the Z-Rain. Then you can get a push-message or E-Mail, if one of your windows still opens and your awning will close automatically.

The great advantage of Z-Rain is that it not only detects rain but also measures the exact amount of rain. A small little shower is not always a reason to close the side windows. You can also set the value of the rain, when you want to be informed about the rain. During a rain, Z-Rain indicates the amount of rain every 1024 seconds in m3 (total sum of rainfall), mm per m2 and mm / h (current rainfall intensity) to the Smart Home Gateway. When the rain stops, the last measured value will be sent to the catwalk. Then the value will be null again. With this you can turn off the irrigation of the garden with the beginning of a rain and activate the next irrigation cycle based on the measurements of the last rain.

Thanks to Z-Wave and the operation with two standard AAA batteries, the Z-Rain can be placed anywhere in your garden. Due to the integrated battery backup technology, Z-Rain could have a useful life of up to 5 years depending on the activation interval.
